𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐
Born in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, in 1976, Francisco Lelo de Larrea began his musical studies at the Escuela Superior de Música de Monterrey, to later continue them at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. He has a degree in Jazz with a specialty in guitar, graduated from the INBA School of Music. Since 2011 he has lived in New York City, where he has obtained the degree of Master of Arts in Jazz Performance, at Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, with a scholarship from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in Mexico.
He has performed in important stages and festivals, both in Mexico and Central America, South America, Europe and the United States, as a leader and sideman, in forums such as LaVee Lee Jazz club, at the Baked Potato in Los Angeles, as well as in Jazz clubs in New York City such as 55 bar, Fat Cat, Somethin 'Jazz Club, Cornelia St Café, Tommi Jazz Club, Terraza 7 Train cafe, Dizzy's Jazz Club at Lincoln Center with Diego Maroto Sextet, and in theaters such as Queens Theater in the Park, Flushing Town Hall with the Antonio Hart group.
He also performed a concert at the Lehman Center in the Bronx as a member of the Wesley Reynoso Afro Latin Big Band with the renowned flutist Dave Valentin, with Bob Franceschinni, Luis Quintero, Vince Cherico, Ruben Rodriguez, Luis Bonilla, Mike Rodriguez among other prominent musicians of the world Latin Jazz scene.
